Goldeneye

In the gentle hills overlooking Zurich, Villa "Goldeneye" stands as a testament to architectural ambition and technical precision – a residence that combines bold modernist design with an intimate living experience. Located on a 2,000-square-metre south-western slope, the property was designed by the renowned Wagner Architects firm, who faced the challenge of creating a residence that would be unmistakably contemporary while remaining exceptionally comfortable. The multi-level home is segmented into distinct functional zones: a lower level housing an automobile collection, a ground floor with flexible accommodation for family members, a spacious primary living level, and a private top floor with wellness facilities.

Central to realising this vision was the implementation of both Sky-Frame Classic and Plain systems, whose frameless sliding glass elements dissolve the boundary between interior and landscape, delivering uninterrupted Alpine panoramas, views of Zurich, and vistas extending to the Limmat Valley. The slender profiles perfectly complement the restrained material palette of Vals stone, dark-stained oak and white surfaces, whilst being seamlessly integrated into the home's automation system. Particularly impressive is the "eye" feature on the upper level – a cantilevered glass corner that creates the sensation of floating above the landscape.

Landscape architect Enzo Enea created a harmonious garden design where the Sky-Frame elements function as picture frames for meticulously composed exterior scenes. The accessible terraces extend the living space outdoors whilst maintaining complete privacy. By night, subtle lighting transforms both house and garden into a luminous composition, with Sky-Frame elements serving as transparent thresholds between illuminated zones.

Eighteen months after completion, the bauherrschaft reports that visitors consistently remark on the property's unique character and inviting atmosphere despite its substantial scale. Villa "Goldeneye" has proven to be a successful example of how exceptional architecture and innovative glazing technology can work together to create an extraordinary living experience – a reference project that impressively demonstrates the technical excellence of Sky-Frame.
