SKY-FRAME HURRICANE – FRAMELESS SLIDING WINDOWS FOR EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS
Sky-Frame Hurricane sets new standards for frameless sliding windows in extreme weather conditions. Certified to the strict Miami-Dade County High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) standards and approved under the Florida Building Code (the gold standard in the industry), it combines uncompromising transparency with maximum hurricane protection.
Specifically engineered for wind and storm-prone regions, Sky-Frame Hurricane has exceeded the most stringent hurricane impact tests. With wind load testing at +/- 75 psf and driving-rain test values of 1,200 Pa (25 psf), among the world's highest, the system delivers exceptional water resistance and structural integrity. Sky-Frame's 7'6" × 11'6" panels are among the largest hurricane-rated frameless sliding doors on the world market. An infinite number of panels can be combined with a panel area of up to 87.62 ft² to create continuous wall-to-wall facades with uninterrupted views.
While primarily designed for hurricane-prone regions across the United States (from Florida to the Carolinas and the Gulf Coast) and the Caribbean, Sky-Frame Hurricane is equally suited for any wind-exposed location facing extreme wind loads, including high-rise buildings, mountain properties, and coastal areas worldwide.
The architectural breakthrough is Sky-Frame Hurricane's unique capability to enable frameless corner openings in hurricane zones and wind-exposed environments. This innovative corner solution allows openings on both sides, unlocking entirely new design possibilities for modern architecture. A concealed espagnolette bolt provides additional wind resistance when needed.
The sliding doors can be motorised or manually operated with a wide range of opening options. A slim 1 1/8" sight line offers an unbounded spatial experience for exceptional architecture. Multi-tracks allow an unlimited number of sliding doors to be installed side by side, creating seamless indoor-outdoor transitions.
Maximum flexibility with glazing options: choose double-pane insulating glass for superior energy efficiency, high-performance laminated safety glass (LSG) for enhanced security and impact resistance, or newly available monolithic glazing (SG) for minimalist aesthetics.
The portfolio is complemented by the hurricane-certified Sky-Frame Pivot. This oversized pivot door with minimal aluminium framing meets the highest standards for wind load, water penetration resistance, and impact safety. Tested for door sizes up to 5'7" × 11'9" at +/- 65 psf, it creates dramatic entrances for luxury residences and commercial buildings in hurricane-prone and wind-exposed regions.
